I think they get this based on how they answered, keeping competitive/guild features as a back burner for later. Anybody that gets tricked into installing and playing needs to stick, and fast.

CHIVALRY 2 VS MORDHAU PC

They have a VERY niche corner of the PC only world and their screenshots look a lot like chivalry, so they will have an uphill battle. I really do hope mordhau though understands that the most important thing they need to do is make the pub experience really, really good. Same type of mistakes going in there, a nice theme and about 50% of what you would want in your head to keep playing over and over again. I mean I got to play mirage briefly (next game from chiv devs) at PAX east this year and it was a big ball of MEH. I don't know his back story but I have a feeling hes a disenfranchised chivalry player trying to steer his game towards where chiv should have. I'm honestly pretty excited to try this game, it looks good very playable in its current state and every time the dev opens his mouth I'm reminded of the fact that the guy 'gets it' for melee games. Nice interview, little bit long for the amount of new info but still good stuff. In Chiv you can practice dragging (look it up) and it applies to quite a few melee weapons in DnD. Ironically playing Chiv got me better at DnD. Mordhau is great but its kinda dead and the community is kinda toxic and racist. Funnily enough, this system doesn't suit combat with lightsabers for the obvious reason that they are, as a matter of fact, meant to always go through (which they admittedly do most of the time because very high base damage), while I think it would be very interesting to try this out in a setting with ordinary cutting weapons. If you just want some great hand to hand combat. Chivalry 2 vs Mordhau: Chivalry 2 and Mordhau are obviously the best 2 medieval action games ever available. That's OK, but I very much prefer Warband's limitation, that you can only hit through one opponent, not a whole score like in Chivalry.Īs a side note: the Warband mod, Bear Force II, which is set in the Star Wars universe actually recently made a very controversial change to the combat in that they removed the stuns from being hit by a weapon (both ranged and melee) - this in turn made melee weapons hit the bodies without going through (unless it's a killing blow or a very powerful one).

I don't think any melee game has yet to come up with a system that would work with full impact upon all areas of the body, weapons, and shields it'll be quite some time 'til we see something like that I reckon.
